Letters to the Universe

Letters to friends, Gurus, Saints and Teachers. A journey of the soul of a seeker

Dwelling in the Nest

Quiet me.
Still my senses
and gather these wandering thoughts
that carry me away from Your heart.

Even this awareness
that draws me closer to Your Grace
sometimes grows wings
and carries me far away,
leaving me to find my way back to You.

Each morning, I give myself to You again.
Empty me of myself
so I may feel Your Presence
moving freely through me.

Have I made enough space within
for what You wish me to become?
Do my smallest choices
honor what You are awakening in me?

I am clay in Your hands.
Soften me. Shape me.
Make of me whatever You will.

When I resist, I feel it instantly,
as though that sacred thread between us
has slipped from my hands.

Keep me close.
Keep me within Your nest.
When these restless wings
long to fly alone,
draw me gently back to You.

Take me deeper into Your endless sea,
beneath thought, beneath breath,
where I can swim without needing air,
where time dissolves
and the one searching for You disappears.

Let me remain there,
until there is no distance between us,
no longing to return,
no me and You,

only You.

Letters to the Universe
A journey of the soul of a seeker.

Since 1984, I have been writing letters to friends, Gurus, Saints, and Teachers, seeking wisdom, guidance, and connection. Over time, I realized that I was truly writing to the Universe.

At first, I posted many of these letters, and some were answered. As my journey deepened, I came to understand that sending them mattered less than listening for what arose within me.

Eventually, I stopped sending them to anyone in particular. These pages are a record of years of questions, musings, and the quiet wisdom that has accompanied my spiritual exploration.
