Letters to the Universe

Letters to friends, Gurus, Saints and Teachers. A journey of the soul of a seeker

A Seat at the Table

The Celestial Choir sings
as frankincense burns.

I bid you welcome.

I am the Greeter at the Table.

The table is infinitely long,
and your seat has been held for you
through lifetimes.

It is yours.

The goblet, passed from hand to hand,
is everlasting—always full.
The drink is nourishing,
though no drop has yet passed your lips.

Sit.

Look around you.

Lean forward and look down the table.

Is that Jesus?
Is it Buddha?
Who holds your heart?
Whom do you seek?

Together, the Illumined sit here.
There is laughter,
and deep, abiding bliss.

You sit among those
who will guide you,
who will take your hand
when you need to be led.

Your place has been waiting.

Not because you have earned it,
but because you belong.

Soon, you will grow accustomed
to the conversation,
the drink,
the laughter,
the brilliance.

And then you will look beyond yourself.

You will seek others
who are still standing at the door.
You will reach out
and offer a hand.

You will become a Greeter.

I know you will.

You will help those new to the Table
feel at home
in the luminosity
of sitting with Divinity.

Letters to the Universe
A journey of the soul of a seeker.

Since 1984, I have been writing letters to friends, Gurus, Saints, and Teachers, seeking wisdom, guidance, and connection. Over time, I realized that I was truly writing to the Universe.

At first, I posted many of these letters, and some were answered. As my journey deepened, I came to understand that sending them mattered less than listening for what arose within me.

Eventually, I stopped sending them to anyone in particular. These pages are a record of years of questions, musings, and the quiet wisdom that has accompanied my spiritual exploration.
