Dear Yuan Tze and Melissa,
Just wanted to send a quick note. So beautiful, and deeply in awe of the Universe! I am not sure I have captured it here in words, so I hope you can follow my thoughts below.
I wanted to report today’s practice of Tian Yuan and Di Yuan, which I truly love. The weather has cleared here, and Spring has finally arrived. I walked down to my pond to do my practice. It was early morning, and the birds are singing their delight to the day.
When starting Tian Yuan and moving to Di Yuan, I have learned to keep a tendril to my physical body, (after opening to the Universe) thus keeping my body grounded and nourishing Qi within.
During today’s Di Yuan, I opened to the Universe, and I could feel the body as if a gossamer veil; the birds singing, and the slight wind was inside the veil of the body. This is distinctly different than before. Usually, there is “no body” and I have to go back to find my body. This time the body was there, but I could “see” all aspects of the environment within the confines of the physical.
Because I love to explore, I opened to see how far I could go into the Universe without shedding the veil of the body – experiencing both – the Universe within and the ever-so-slight outline of the body; ever expanding and enlarging to encompass this.
I could feel a pulse of energy with no Source moving through my body and the Universe together – along with the sounds and smells and physical sensations of the pond and my land – again, all inside the almost sheer confines of my physical being.
Absolutely and deeply moving. A super WOW!
After completing the practice, I had to drive 20 minutes to the next town to pick something up. The tundra is relatively flat with slow hills. The crops have not been planted yet, so the views are open and expansive. I realized that this experience had not stopped when I completed the practice – but had even intensified. As I drove and looked out the window, I was “seeing” this expansiveness within my body. Again, my body was just a sheer veil, and the scene was moving through it. It was now not static (standing by the pond) but now in movement. The scenery was within me and without.
I am sending deep Gongjing to you, to God, and to the Universe.
With love,
Fleming Conley
